As a Senior Manager, Logistics at The RealReal, you will lead a team of Logistics Supervisors overseeing 60+ TRR drivers, vehicles, coordinators and dispatchers. You and your team will be responsible for executing the safe, timely, and cost-effective movement of inventory among the company’s consignors, authentication centers, retail locations and other logistics hubs each day. Together with daily operations, you will be responsible for developing the long-term transportation strategy for your function that maximizes service availability while driving down costs. In addition, you will own fleet management, safety, standard operating plans, budgets, and forecasts. 

This position may sit at one of our locations in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, Secaucus, New Jersey, or Los Angeles, California.

What You Get To Do Every Day

  • Manage a team of 5 Logistics Supervisors, each with responsibility for 10-20 non-exempt team members in a given region
  • Track fleet safety performance and ensure compliance with all company safety policies; establish team safety benchmarks and hold managers accountable to hitting these targets. Identify and implement training, policy and process changes to lower incident rate
  • Provide professional development and advancement opportunities for team members, building a culture of high standards where strong performance is recognized and rewarded over time
  • Build a financial plan for each team that ties to overall company goals. Establish key performance indicators for each supervisor with respect to (i) team productivity, (ii) labor hours used and (iii) service quality; build a culture of accountability to these objectives and coach / performance manage supervisors as required
  • Identify strategic opportunities to improve team KPIs and design/execute medium to long-term implementation projects
  • Monitor / report on weekly KPI performance; provide regular analysis of the root cause of any variance to plan, proposed corrective action and results
  • Track fleet operating costs and out-of-service time; identify opportunities to reduce cost and downtime
  • Develop and refine training programs for hourly team members to ensure they have a positive onboarding experience and are ready to meet our performance standards; provide quantitative feedback early and often on whether new hires are meeting safety, productivity and quality expectations
  • Partner with Product, Sales and other cross-functional teams as required on initiatives to reduce consignor friction through transportation improvements

What You Bring To The Role

  • 7+ years of experience in managing a large, non-exempt workforce including first and third party drivers
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse personalities in a matrix organization
  • Roll up the sleeves, action oriented mindset to have an impact in a fast-paced, rapidly changing and explosive growth environment
  • Willingness to continuously develop, understand industry best practices and desire to stay ahead of the curve
  • Advance knowledge of excel and google sheets; comfortable building reports and tracking data
  • Strong leadership ability with a focus on development of talent, creating new roles and ability to drive numbers in a  production based environment
  • Comfortable with multitasking and making in the moment decision based on business needs
  • Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and changes approach or method to best fit the situation

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Operations or related field or equivalent work experience

 

The expected salary range for this role is $XX - $XX. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Additionally, salary is just one component of TRR’s total rewards package. Depending on role, employees may also be eligible for a bonus program, incentive pay and benefits.
