The Digital Compliance Senior Manager, within Digital Product Operations, provides support and oversight of Compliance initiatives across our Digital channels. This role has a close partnership with Marriott’s Legal, Corporate and Brand and Marketing teams to ensure adherence of guidelines and thereby minimize business risk. 

 

The person in this role will work with the Sr. Director, Digital Product Compliance to communicate, train, audit, and measure compliance across our digital channels. The Senior Manager connects work tracks across functional areas, manages stakeholders, and develops processes to drive operational excellence while leveraging program and agile best practices.

 

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required:

  • A 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related major or equivalent experience 
  • 6+ years of experience in the hospitality or digital industry, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance
  • 3+ years of experience in organization with high transactional volume sites/apps
  • 3+ years of mature agile experience
  • Strong experience managing multi-million dollar budgets
  • Experience managing multiple complex initiatives simultaneously
  • Excellent program management skills to lead teams in distributed environments involved in delivering complex business systems. 
  • Relationship-building skills as well as strong leadership and team management skills, with deep understanding of business impact on delivery.
  • Strong planning skills including ability to develop presentations, roadmaps and spreadsheets.
  • Strong interpersonal and meeting facilitation skills required to lead and manage all team members, internal and external clients, vendors and meetings.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills that inspire team confidence while motivating team members in a creative and effective manner

 Preferred:

  • 2+ years of Native Mobile App (iOS or Android) experience 
  • Master’s degree 
  • PMP certification and/or scrum certification
  • Experience with industry standard agile software development tools (e.g., Jira)

 

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Managing Work, Projects, and Policies

  • Program support of Compliance initiatives across Marriott’s Legal, Corporate and Brand and Marketing teams across Digital initiatives
  • Lead communication, training, audit, and measurement of compliance across channels
  • Create training materials and provide training and assistance on best practices working with appropriate Legal stakeholders
  • Assist with establishing metrics and measure impact of business process changes for the organization
  • Build strong relationships across disciplines and stakeholders
  • Provide insights from experience, best practices and lessons learned to drive the organization’s quality and productivity
  • Collaborate with the IT and global Digital product teams to engineer the best process solutions
  • Prepare for and mitigate risks for process changes and identify readiness to adapt
  • Track and monitor program status, quality, issues and milestone with escalation as required
  • Ensure risks, dependencies and decisions are properly communicated and managed 
  • Manage program communication with the Digital leadership team and external stakeholders Assist in overseeing program budgets and timelines 

Leading Team

  • Oversee a team representing cross discipline functions and monitor work to ensure its on-time completion while meeting expectations
  • Create a team environment that encourages accountability, high standards, and innovation
  • Develop best practices and standardization for the operations team
  • Contribute to the development of the operations discipline and community through training/mentoring, knowledge sharing and leveraging of best practices
  • Ensure goals are being translated to the team as they relate to tracking and productivity
  • Ensure appropriate focus on KPIs and product effectiveness measurement 
  • Create and nurture an environment that emphasizes motivation, empowerment, teamwork, continuous improvement and a passion for providing services
  • Understand staff’s capabilities and develop plans to address need areas and expand on the strengths
  • Provide the team with the resources needed to meet or exceed expectations
  • Lead by example in demonstrating self-confidence, high energy and ent
