About the role

The Sr. Project Manager (SPM) will support the ITS Program Management Office by undertaking the project management duties to successful delivering on time, on budget and within scope to meet the expectations of the stakeholders. assigned projects throughout the project’s life cycle including initiation, planning, execution, closure

Duties & Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Management and key stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, assumptions, dependencies, value proposition / rationale, and impacted organizational functions and systems.
  • Resolve conflicts and managing scope changes
  • Communicate project status updates, resolve conflicts, and negotiate changes in project priorities and/or scope.
  • Conduct project meetings and facilitating collaborative discussions within the project teams and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage projects in accordance with the scope of work and with established PMO policies and procedures.
  • Management Lifecycle and System Development Lifecycle; planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.
  • Assign project roles; manage project scope and deadlines.
  • Lead project management activities and deliverable development/maintenance including preparation and management of project documents (i.e., Project Management Plans, Project Plans, Project Status Updates, Issue and Action Item Log, Meeting Agendas, Project Specific Deliverables).
  • Formulate, define, and implement improvements to business processes and operations.
  • Document current state (“as is”) and future state (“to be”) processes, systems flow, and data flows.
  • Outline and refine business, functional, and technical requirements.
  • Create thorough testing scenarios, document results, and develop remediation plans with ITS to address unmet business requirements.
  • Coordinate and facilitate user acceptance tests against business requirements.
  • Define, develop, and execute training activities.
  • Provide budget analysis, project administrative and ITS executive support services.
  • Drafts/updates and proofs PMO policies and procedures.
  • Assists in drafting of project proposals, Requests for Proposals (RFP’s), budget estimates, cash flow projections and preliminary project work schedules.
  • Logs and tracks the resolution of project issues and the planning for and mitigation of risks associated with the project.
  • Prepares project close out presentations and other documentation.
  • Performs ad hoc assignments for the executive team

Technical Requirements

  • Relationship Building; works effectively with strong, diverse teams of people with multiple perspectives, talents, and backgrounds. He or she is known for doing what is best irrespective of politics and is comfortable with consensus building (at multiple levels) and soliciting constructive feedback; ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of participants including upper management, clients, other departments, and 3rd party providers.
  • Manage day to day customer relationship and expectations during project delivery and up to the final handover.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills, able to influence diverse teams of support staff, engineers, consultants, developers, and managers without line authority.
  • Lead discovery workshops, which includes the facilitation of small to large audiences, solution presentations, and prototype demonstrations.
  • Responsible for identification and inventory of the business user process pain points and gaps in best practices.
  • Strong presenter to C Suite level audiences as well as technical teams.
  • Comfortable with heavy involvement in user acceptance test planning.
  • Effectively leverage multiple implementation team types (User experience, Change Management, Developer / Configuration Communities).
  • Make presentations on project status and present status reports to the Business and ITS stakeholders
  • Independence & Collaboration; experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment; must be able to drive work effectively with limited supervision (at times) while representing department and executive management interests and concerns.
  • Manage projects and related tasks using a project management application.
  • Flexibility & Organization; adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities; proven ability to multi-task and efficiently manage time across competing activities/resources; able to effectively prioritize, execute tasks, and thrive in a high-pressure fast paced environment.
