Job Summary

To work in a shift as part of engineering dept as Electrician in the Plant. To perform and deliver as per requirements of electrical department and support various other departments as per their job request as to their best satisfaction.

 

Key Responsibilities

• To provide uninterrupted power supply (except power supply failures from supplying company)
• To maintain all power supplying electrical equipment’s in such a way that power is supplied uninterruptedly.
• Ensure that all electrical supplying equipment, machineries, cables, wires , joints etc. are checked and corrected to company standards, periodically and record is maintained 
• Follow the preventive maintenance schedule
• Ensure effective utilization of tools and tackles and prevent misuse of same
• Ensure effective utilization of electrical energy and minimize the consumption through innovative ideas
• Shall be responsible for saving electrical energy in entire plant.
• Complete the jobs within stipulated time as directed by supervisor
• Guiding supervisor on the requirement of spares etc on time to avoid breakdown and to minimize machine downtime
• Record  all readings correctly and accurately
• Always use safety equipment’s and tools whenever and wherever required.
• To have good communications with supervisors and fellow workmen, reporting defects, manufacturing difficulties, ideas for improvements, etc.
• To work safely at all times and to report unsafe conditions, hazards, near misses to supervisor and related reporting system immediately.
• To follow relevant environmental, health & Safety legislation and the companies’ environmental, health & Safety management systems and standards.
• To actively participate and contribute in the changeover, conversion, preventive maintenance process and other task assigned from time to time.
• To conduct and participate in various audits as per company requirements.

 

Education

• ITI  Electrical with minimum 6 to 10 years of experience in manufacturing background in a high speed, high volume continuous process.

 

Skills & Competencies required

• Computer literacy and the ability to generate reports.
• Trouble shooting of electrical faults independently with and without electrical drawings. He should be able to distinguish between electrical and mechanical problems. Also he should be able to make changes in the equipment as per the operations requirements.
• Knowledge of electrical power saving calculations and concepts, should have worked on energy conservation projects.
• Hands on experience to develop electrical panels and electrical control circuit
• Experience of ovens, gas burners and their controlling.
• Basic PLC programming skills & Good understanding of how PLC interlocks are created for machine safety, human safety, machine functioning.
