Position Summary

The purpose of the Global Monitoring & Site Engagement – Sr Director of Portfolio Execution – (RIRU) is to serve as the single accountable leader for therapeutic area execution within GMASE, translating R&D and therapeutic strategy into predictable, high-quality clinical delivery at scale.

Operating within the DevOps model, this role owns GMASE’s execution outcomes for the therapeutic area, ensuring that clinical delivery moves from fragmented, study-by-study execution to a consistent, data-driven, and continuously connected delivery system across programs, countries, and partners. The position is accountable for how GMASE plans, deploys, and optimizes resources, site engagement, monitoring approaches, and risk management to deliver the therapeutic area portfolio, not for setting GSK therapeutic strategy or scientific direction.

In close partnership with Disease Area Leaders (DALs), therapeutic area leadership, and DevOps counterparts, the position serves as GMASE’s execution lead, converting strategic intent into measurable improvements across GMASE’s value drivers — velocity, quality, predictability, expertise, and productivity. Through leadership of Global Program Leads and close coordination with Planning & Strategic Feasibility, GCSD, DS&M, Clinical Science, Regulatory, and external CRO partners, this position puts the DevOps operating model into practice within GMASE, positioning GMASE as the engine of continuous, AI-enabled evidence generation for the therapeutic area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own therapeutic area execution for GMASE as a continuous, AI-enabled evidence generation engine, with full accountability for how the TA portfolio is delivered across programs, studies, countries, and partners in alignment with DevOps principles.

  • Provide GMASE’s execution and delivery-feasibility input into Disease Area Strategy Plans, acting as GMASE’s senior execution counterpart to Disease Area Leaders (DALs) and TA stakeholders, representing GMASE in TA-level execution discussions, trade-offs, and delivery commitments, while partnering closely on priorities and outcomes.

  • Establish GMASE TA-level execution alignment with Planning & Strategic Feasibility, ensuring portfolio priorities, commercial positioning, feasibility insights, and delivery strategies are coherently translated into executable, scalable plans.

  • Own GMASE TA-level portfolio performance oversight, including setting expectations, reviewing execution signals and evidence assurance data, identifying systemic risks and constraints, and driving timely resolution through structured escalation and cross-functional decision-making.

  • Provide senior leadership and talent stewardship for Global Program Leads (GPLs), including setting execution standards, strengthening decision quality, building leadership capability through fit-for-purpose onboarding and development, and holding accountability for performance; may include direct line management of GPLs.

  • Ensure appropriate site engagement for the TA, building GMASE’s site network as durable infrastructure rather than a study-by-study relationship — defining with key stakeholders and overseeing GMASE TA-wide site engagement and relationship strategies, including site tiering aligned to enterprise priorities, focusing GMASE focuses effort where it most impacts velocity, quality, and predictability.

  • Own GMASE’s execution governance for outsourced delivery within the TA, setting expectations with CRO partners, overseeing performance, and resolving delivery issues and escalations to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.

  • Ensure GMASE effective cross-functional execution governance, connecting GPLs and study teams to the appropriate decision-makers across GCSD, DS&M, Clinical Science, Regulatory, and other partners to remove systemic barriers and prevent fragmented delivery.

  • As a member of the GMASE Leadership Team, chair GMASE therapeutic
