Job Summary

Under limited supervision, the Sr. Analyst Credit Risk will develop and maintain HDFS portfolio servicing strategies, credit loss forecasting, and other complex data analytic initiatives that drive continuous improvement and support company profitability and loss objectives. This role is responsible for developing and monitoring performance KPIs, incentive targets, and Collection/Loss Mitigation strategy results relaying findings and recommendations to leadership ensuring alignment. Additionally, this individual will provide loss forecast projections and staff capacity planning estimates to Operations, Finance, Modeling, and Senior Leadership to ensure consistency of the forecasts and variance/driver/overlay analysis and provide additional context, as needed, as the loss forecasting subject matter expert.

Job Responsibilities


· Develops and maintains loss forecasting models and delinquency projections for HDFS that have direct inputs into budgeting and capacity planning exercises.

· Conducts statistical and non-statistical studies for portfolio performance and health by writing database queries in predictive and data mining like Alteryx/SQL/SAS, Python, R, etc. Analyzes complex internal and external datasets to understand the performance and identify drivers for delinquency and losses across Retail portfolio and makes recommendations based on findings.

· Executes and manages various monthly and quarterly reporting and forecasting analytics with commentary on overlays, variances, and drivers throughout different forecasting cycles that is shared with key stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment.

· Partners with various Business Units, including but not limited to, Operations, Finance, Accounting, and other Risk partners to ensure correct delinquency and loss expectations and trends are communicated effectively and executed appropriately.

· Owns Collection/Loss Mitigation strategy development, execution, and performance monitoring including maintaining strategy criteria in the production systems and supporting the structure and continuance of Champion/Challenger strategies. Develop pro-forma to model projected impact of various treatments and lead changes determined by cost and benefit analysis - to improve account resolution, customer contacts, and recovery KPIs.

· Provides Senior Management team with periodic updates on portfolio strategies’ effectiveness, analyze results to identify and propose enhancement and compare industry trends through benchmarking efforts.

· Builds and maintains performance reporting to monitor Retail portfolio and risk strategy performance. Uses performance results to identify opportunities to optimize business rules/logics, provide input for scoring models used in servicing strategies, translate into the technical development of the decision system platform, and create mitigation resolutions for risks/issues identified.

· Uses strong written and oral communication skills to create and present data-supported, actionable recommendations of business benefits of data-driven analyses, models, and other technical recommendations to both peers and senior management.
