Job Overview
This position would report to the Division Controller and would assist in monthly closing, planning, and forecasting activities, ad hoc analysis, and helping to ensure adherence to Corporate Policies and Procedures. Responsibilities would include, but are not limited to, executing the annual standard cost roll, daily costing of new and engineered to order items, and assisting in the control functions of inventory and fixed assets. Responsibilities require in-depth knowledge cost accounting, manufacturing processes, generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP), and SAP best practices.
A Day In The Life
- Monthly closing and reporting process, using SAP and HFM
- Perform annual and daily costing of new and engineered to order parts including bill of material and routing reviews
- Prepare and communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual KPI reporting to management
- Assist in production order review process, including resolution of COGI errors and analysis of inventory discrepancies
- Assist in cost center planning and forecasting process, including tracking expenses and analysis of variances
- Assist in monthly variance analysis including, but not limited to, PPV, freight, material usage, production order, labor, and burden (overhead) variances
- Assist in executing the accounting function of the annual physical inventory
- Assist in the fixed asset control process
- Assist in providing financial analytical support to plant managers and leadership team to aid in business decisions
- Assist in project analysis, including capital, major maintenance, and product line expansion
- Preparation of quarterly and yearly pro formas
What will help you thrive in this role?
- BS Degree with major in Accounting or Finance
- 1 to 5 years of accounting experience
- Advanced Excel skills (i.e. VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables)
- SAP (or other ERP) and Hyperion (or other Consolidated Reporting) experience a plus
