Your Responsibilities

 

As a Sr Battery Electrical Engineer for JD Power Systems you will:

 

  • Lead the battery pack electrical architecture and adaptation to the battery pack design following the Product Delivery Process (PDP), ensuring all activities and plans are formulated and followed to launch the product into production
  • Design and specification of electrical components including contactors, relays, LV/HV connectors, current sensors, cell monitoring board, pre-charge resistors/contactors and MSD to meet the vehicle requirement and functional specifications
  • Release of technical product requirement specification of electrical components and lead the discussion with suppliers to finalize component selection
  • Effectively collaborate and communicate with the appropriate functional team members from quality, manufacturing, supply management and product support, as well as product development engineers, PV&V engineers, marketing, suppliers, customers, and leadership
  • Understand customer needs and translate into product requirements and develop and meet program targets for performance, cost, timeline, durability and high-volume production
  • Understand the different international standards for Electrical components, RESS and compliance to them while designing and verification of electrical systems
  • Develop DFMEA and DVP&R for component testing and verification

What Skills You Need

 

  • 5 or more years of experience in product development
  • 2 or more years of experience of electrical system design including wiring harness, architecture and system integration
  • 2 or more years of experience in part design and release process such as SAP, Windchill, Creo or other similar business tools
  • 2 or more years of experience in the electrical system design and validation using Capital Harness Systems, Smart Draw, Visio Professional or other applicable design tools
  • 2 or more years of experience in the electrical system virtual analysis and simulation

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • Knowledge of lithium-ion battery pack technology
  • Demonstrated ability to constructively work with suppliers in the design of components and cross functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to constructively work with teams having diverse skills and from different cultural backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate product/system requirements documents of significant magnitude.
  • Possess good understanding and knowledge of the Enterprise Product Delivery Process
  • Demonstrated problem solving, analytical skills and ability to work independently as well as with others
  • Personal or professional experience with electric vehicle
  • Knowledge of International standards ISO, IEC, DIN, SAE, UL/CSA etc available for RESS

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or other related discipline with experience
