About the role

The Opportunity:

Analyze financial data to identify the company’s financial status. Actively partner with finance and investor relations leadership to continuously provide critical information, unbiased facts, risks and opportunities, and support action planning to enhance growth and operating results. Assist in the consolidation and reporting of global management forecasting and results analysis and serve as the primary resource in supporting the company’s Investor Relations function.

We are recruiting for a Sr. Analyst, Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis to assist in the consolidation and reporting of global management forecasting and results analysis.  This role will also serve as the primary resource in supporting the company’s Investor Relations function.  This is a highly visible role that provides meaningful exposure to senior leadership and an opportunity to shape the financial narrative and investor messaging for Avantor.

This associate will actively partner with finance and investor relations leadership to continuously provide critical information, unbiased facts, risks and opportunities, and support action planning to enhance growth and operating results.  He or she will also support IR activities including quarterly earnings results, industry events and investor targeting/outreach. This role will report to the Director, of Corporate, FP&A.

This associate will have primary responsibility for running internal analysis to assess sell-side financial models, analyzing our shareholder base and ad hoc financial analysis. This associate will also be responsible for monitoring news, research reports and competitive events to identify trends, opportunities and insights relevant for Avantor.

This role will be a full-time, hybrid position based out of our Radnor, PA office (ideally 3 - 4x per week in office). 

What we’re looking for  

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or in equivalent quantitative/analytically focused subject area from an accredited college or university; Graduate degree preferred, but not required.

  • Experience: 3+ years’ experience in investment banking, equity research, private equity, corporate FP&A or investor relations at a public company

  • Experience in financial analysis and modeling

  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, with the presence and confidence to interact with senior executives and investors and represent Avantor at investor conferences

  • Strong financial and business acumen including financial metrics, valuation and basic accounting

  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Strong analytical skills, including financial modeling

  • Demonstrated leadership, and ability to work in a matrixed and collaborative environment

  • Independent, self-starter, highly motivated

  • Experience with FactSet and Bloomberg a plus

How you will thrive and create an impact  

Results & Events:

  • Assists in preparing and reviewing monthly results and analysis to determine methods of increasing operating productivity through revenue generation, margin expansion and/or cost control.

  • Updates monthly/quarterly/annual financial presentation packages for review with leadership, the board of directors or investors.

  • Assists with quarterly public company reporting requirements associated with earnings release.

  • Support the quarterly earnings process by preparing earnings conference call scripts, press releases, investor presentation, Q&A documents, and other prep materials for sell-side and buy-side post-earnings calls

  • Drive preparation for industry conferences, onsite investor visits, investor days and non-deal roadshows – including crafting taking points, creating supporting materials, and preparing executives.

  • Log key questions from analysts & investors across events, identify key themes, incorporate results into Q&A repository

Market Intelligence:

  • Maintain a financial model to analyze sell-side research models, identify outliers and compare consensus to current internal estimates

  • Monitor sell-side analysts’ reports, market sentiment, peer commentary and results, and
