About the role

LinQuest is seeking a Speechwriter/Strategic Communication Lead to join our team supporting the US Space Force in Crystal City, Virginia! This position requires an Active Top Secret with ability to obtain an SCI.

The Headquarters United States Space Force (HQ USSF) and the Director of Staff (HQSF/DS) require assistance in organizational planning, implementation, maturation, and strengthening of the HQ Space Force. To further the process of developing HQ USSF, a multi-faceted planning, integration, and management support team continues to implement a multi-phased, (multi-year), plan to transition HQ USSF from an initial operating capacity to full operational capacity. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate engagements and CSO-directed special initiatives for Strategic Initiatives Group (SIG) and USSF staff and units
  • Conduct research for information appropriate for specified audiences and venues and senior-leader delivery
  • Develop strategic engagement plans to inform and develop stakeholder relationships
  • Establish metrics to evaluate strategic engagements
  • Produce executive level correspondence and align with CSO and Secretary of the Air Force (SAF) messaging
  • Prepare speeches and/or draft speaking points for the CSO
  • Routinely craft senior leader messaging that is in line with mission objects and reflective of USSF culture within minimal correction.
  • Perform accurate, high quality, and timely work which leads to positive Government review rating.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Active Top Secret with ability to obtain an SCI
  • Master's degree in an associated technical or line of business discipline
  • Over eighteen (18) years of progressive experience in high-level technical and organizational management
  • Demonstrate superior writing skills

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Speech-Writing or Strategic Communications Experience
  • Uninformed or Civilian service in the Air Force or Space Force
  • Experience on Executive level staff
  • Graduate of an armed forces Senior Professional Military Education college (War College or equivalent)
