Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant (2026/2027)

Terms of Employment: 
10 Months, Full-time, 8 hrs per day, 5 days per week

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities: To assist in the assessment of students' speech development level; implementing goals for remediation of speech and language deficits; and providing information and/or direction as may be required.

Essential Functions:

Attends meetings in the presence of supervising Speech Language Pathologist -SLP (e.g. departmental, multidisciplinary team, etc.) for the purpose of receiving and/or conveying information.

Conducts speech and language screenings using district approved screening instruments.

Confers with classroom teacher for the purpose of providing requested information, implementing plans for services and/or making recommendations as directed by supervising SLP.

Maintains various files and/or records for the purpose of providing written support and documentation required.

Prepares materials and follows speech language lessons appropriate for individuals or small groups (e.g. speech therapy, teaching materials, etc.).

Provides direct instructional services to students under the supervision of the SLP for the purpose of implementing goals for remediation of speech language deficits.

Other duties may be assigned by supervisor.

Education Requirements/Licensing Requirements:

Community College and/or Vocational School Degree.

Speech-Language Pathology Assistant License (ARS 36-1940.04)
Fingerprint Clearance

Experience:

             Experience in working with school age children
