The estimated base salary range for this role is $120,000 to $150,000 per year.  
Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors (salary may be adjusted based on geographic location)

Job Output

As a Program Manager, you will be the day-to-day owner of our Specification Center of Excellence. You will collaborate on the strategy and be responsible for developing and enhancing the program to ensure it delivers results that will enable long-term strategic advantages for the company.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

• Create a strategy to improve our specification process, specification strength, and specification rate in the commercial construction industry
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coach, train, and further develop specification writing and execution skills within the sales organization
• Serve as the voice of sales, actively collaborating to understand customer challenges as they relate to creating and holding specifications
• Provide governance to ensure acoustic, fire, seismic, sustainability, and other codes relevant to our product portfolio are the most up-to-date and used to our advantage
• Monitor and report on program KPIs
• Own the Building Information Modeling (BIM) strategy and execution; inventory existing, evaluate for accuracy, and create or update as needed to meet industry demands
• Develop a strategy to penetrate the market with our revised specifications and rid the market of our old, out-date specifications
• Analyze specification writing software and platforms; recommend platforms to extend our reach to our target audiences
• Identify marketing automation tactics to increase our reach to the architectural community
• Manage vendor relationships of external platforms
• Integrate with top firms and industry professionals to build and strengthen relationships and Armstrong’s reputation
• Work with product managers to develop a comprehensive understanding of our products, solutions, and competitive advantages
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of our products’ and solutions’ competitive advantages
• Research competitive products to identifying gaps within our portfolio; share with Product Management
• Assist sales representatives with solutions to value-engineering and substitution requests in a timely manner
• As requested, assist all parties, from design to install, to create an excellent customer experience

• Complete understanding of the end-to-end architectural specification process (domain expertise)
• Extensive knowledge and working experience of architectural design, engineering coordination, design trends, products, construction methodology, building systems, and material application
• Strong knowledge of construction players, processes, and schedules
• Strong knowledge of interior plans, blueprint reading, and material requirements
• Strong knowledge of building codes and ability to research and apply/incorporate into technical documents
• Strong knowledge of LEED standards and product contributions
