Specialist, Technology Engineer position to support the Data Platforms team within the Enterprise Data Office. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to grow their career at Nationwide. This role will primarily be responsible for supporting key data platforms like Databricks, Denodo and Governed Data Lake
The ideal candidate should have a strong Databricks skill set with good understanding of Data concepts like Data governance, Data integration, Data curation, Data storage and Data consumption. The candidate should be team player with a learning and development mindset. Below is the skill set that we are looking for to help make the candidate successful at this job.
Technical skills
• Strong Databricks knowledge
• Python
• Strong SQL skillset
• Working knowledge of Lakehouses
• Version Control tools, particularly git/Github
• Unix shell scripting
• AWS Services (e.g S3, EC2, Cloud formation pipeline)
• DevOps Tools (Kubernetes (CNP), Jenkins, Harness) and DevSecOps Practices
• Working knowledge in LINUX
• Integration and API development
• Automation and Continuous Improvement
• Interest in technology trends like generative AI solutioning
Soft Skills
• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Creates and implements standard builds/templates for all technology platforms.
Drives requirements to meet current and future needs, tracks and reports capacity postures.
Analyzes reports and delivery recommendations to remediate capacity issues.
Implements capacity enhancements.
Designs standard and custom technology solutions for business partner projects, including pre-production testing, performance tuning, handoffs and certification.
Delivers technology/product optimization, migrations and management, including technology/product design, planning, power and environmental management.
Collaborates with others to develop meaningful metrics that drive fact-based decisions on a given product/environment/solutio
