General Purpose of Job
This position will perform and deliver on routine assignments/projects while simultaneously leveraging and applying knowledge of their assigned area(s) of Tax Reporting and Compliance responsibility. They will prepare, analyze and report on Federal and State Income Tax Returns, GAAP and Statutory Tax Expense, Tax Balance Sheet, and Financial Disclosures for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.The Role at a Glance
This position will perform and deliver on routine assignments/projects while simultaneously leveraging and applying knowledge of their assigned area(s) of Tax Operations responsibility. S/he will analyze withholding and accounting transactions to resolve tax notice issues and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local withholding/employment tax information reporting rules/regulation and internal accounting controls. S/he will participate in projects related to the tax withholding and information reporting systems in which there are impacts to Tax Operations.
What you'll be doing
• Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.

• Performs and delivers on routine assignments/projects while simultaneously leveraging and applying knowledge of their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Identifies, communicates, and implements process improvements that reduce workloads or improve quality for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Provides support to team members for the recording of taxes to the GAAP and statutory ledger and completion of regulatory tax filings.
• Prepares federal, state, and local withholding tax returns and payment processing/approvals as needed.
• Analyzes accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of withholding and employment tax records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with tax regulations and internal controls.
• Conducts analysis to resolve business and processing issues and provides problem-solving production support to internal stakeholders.
• Monitors Managed Service Provider (MSP) activity and provides direction as necessary.
• Identifies when accounting and/or general ledger corrections are necessary and explains root cause to internal business partners and/or MSP.
• Provides technical tax reporting system support to business partners, including creating ad-hoc reports, system training, testing planning and execution.
• Participates in modifying existing and/or developing new workflows which reflect changes resulting from new systems or business process enhancements.
• Assesses impact and recommends enhancements or solutions to resolve issues initiatives and system mergers and consolidation.
• Acts as a liaison between Business Unit’s and Finance Departments to capture business needs and minimize gaps in project requirements.
• Participates in projects related to his/her assigned area of responsibility.
• Carries out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines. Complies with all company and site policies and procedures.
• Remains current in profession and industry trends.
• Performs other duties as required.
What we’re looking for
• 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) (Minimum Required)
• 1 - 3+ Years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Reporting, Tax, or Audit directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position. Experience in financial services, life insurance, or the investment industries desired. (Required)
• Experience and/or proficiency in:
o Accounting
o Organizational, time management, and analytical skills
o General research and analysis
o Strong oral and written communication skills
o Anticipating, recognizing, and meeting needs from internal/external stakeholders.
