Prime Finance's Operations team provides comprehensive support for real-time Financing products and operations (lending/borrowing/margin). The team sits within Institutional Operations Solutions (IOS) and is responsible for managing risk and providing operational solutions to the institutional business at Coinbase.  Teams within IOS interact with many stakeholders within the institutional business to create solutions and strive to develop efficient processes and systems to facilitate the institutional business at scale.  In addition to interacting with internal stakeholder teams, team members in IOS directly face off with institutional clients and provide best in class client service. 

Team members facilitate cryptocurrency loans, manage margin, and oversee all the relevant services to ensure seamless operations from both treasury and counterparty credit perspectives. This role is remote within the US time zone.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties): 

• Work with the Prime Finance team on their daily responsibilities, gaining insights into their processes and role within the firm. You will also engage with different IOS teams, including occasional ad-hoc rotational duties outside regular business days where necessary.
• Ensure daily transaction and agreement of appropriate collateral with counterparties, calculate margin requirements, and report to auditors, management, and clients.
• Oversee timely loan and return settlements across various assets, and act as Trade Support to the Trading Team.
• Develop and implement procedures and controls (such as cash, digital asset, and collateral reconciliations), manage risk, and adhere to escalation procedures.
• Identify and manage operational risk and understand compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in existing processes and risk management capabilities.
• Participate in system development projects, broader business product initiatives, and process improvements.
• Foster strong relationships with clients, colleagues (traders, product managers, technology teams, etc.), and external service providers/counterparties.

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements): 

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional and operational experience with the ability to multitask effectively.
• Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial markets, lending, and trading instruments.
• Cryptocurrency Insight: Familiarity with cryptocurrencies, lending, and blockchain transactions.
• Product Background: Knowledge of securities lending, derivatives, and structured products.
• Attention to Detail: Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to analyze and research efficiently in a dynamic environment.
• Communication: Strong adaptable communication skills.

Nice to haves:

• Programming: Programming knowledge to automate processes and create efficiencies. Proficient in Google Sheets with advanced skills working with data, formula creation, pivot tables, charts, and script automation to streamline and enhance data analysis and reporting processes.
• Financial Products: Experience with derivatives, swaps, repo, margin finance, and structured products.
• On-Chain Expertise: Previous experience with on-chain crypto activities.
