Description:

Marsh McLennan is seeking a mid-level AS400, VIP DocManager & Content Management Systems Engineer to be located in the Urbandale IA office in a hybrid role.

AS400 & Content Management Systems Engineer

What you can expect:

  • Under general supervision, provides AS400/IBM incident ticket support and resolution of both internal and client facing Application support for Applications. Engineer helps manage severity level 1 - 5 issues, assists with the implementation of Change Management tasks; participates in routine production issue resolution, vulnerability management, patching, etc.
  • Under general supervision, provides SQL building and executing queries support, Basic coding understanding (batch files, CL, PowerShell, .Net, etc.) and Basic Windows Server admin skills to help ensure application availability, reliability and stability and other duties as required. Supports server and Application patching efforts across the organization, the implementation of performance improvement initiatives and provides assistance to other technical groups on process improvement initiatives, as necessary.
  • Under general supervision, provides Linux incident ticket support triage and resolution of both internal and client facing Web Application (i.e WebLogic, Tomcat) support for Applications residing on RedHat Linux, Oracle Linux or Solaris Operating Systems. Provides Support for the application teams troubleshooting and contacting Unix teams (Linux & Solaris).

What we will count on you to:

Compliance and Security:

  • Perform routine housekeeping and health check monitoring within Linux-Unix OS Server and Application environments, not limited to monitoring of application services, batch processes, backup jobs; archiving of logs, etc.
  • Respond to security requirements and changes and ensure that they are applied to the systems within area of control
  • Carry out Service account revalidation exercises as required
  • Assist with audit reviews and ensure audit requirements and changes are met, collaborating with various business and application teams as necessary

Participate in process improvement initiatives including:

  • Identify opportunities for systems and tools enhancements and automation to aid operational efficiencies.
  • Identify opportunities for middleware enhancements, performance tuning, server hardening, etc. via automation to aid operational efficiencies
  • Contribute to group/team wide improvement initiatives
  • Leverage local knowledge and skills to identify further opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure ongoing conformances of processes (end user support and operation)
  • Comply with MMC processes and standards during course of work and attend mandatory training as required

What you need to have: 

  • Content Management Experience
  • AS400 experience with strong knowledge of VIP DocManager and navigation
  • SQL building and executing queries
  • Basic coding understanding (batch files, CL, PowerShell, .Net, etc.)
  • provides Linux incident ticket support triage and resolution of both internal and client facing Web Application (i.e Weblogic, Tomcat) support for Applications residing on RedHat Linux, Oracle Linux or Solaris Operating Systems.
  • Provides Support for the application teams troubleshooting and contacting Unix teams (Linux & Solaris). 
  • Windows Server admin skills
  • Process understanding related to complex systems
