Position Overview

 

The Special Projects Lab Technician will be responsible for executing client-driven R&D projects. This role will primarily work independently to follow methods and procedures unique to these projects. The current scope includes projects related to plant herbicides and fertilizer, pest control, and medical device cleaning protocols, with other opportunities possible. Duties will include supporting the routine work done in the microbiology and chemistry laboratories, including lab space preparation, glassware cleaning, making media, maintaining inventory of supplies, etc.

What You’ll Do:

 

  • Utilize basic tools and instrumentation to perform protocols related to a variety of unique projects
  • Meet all testing assignment deadlines and document all analyses in a timely and accurate manner
  • Perform technical review/interpretation of test data and ensure validity of results
  • Generate reports and present findings to the client as requested
  • Meet regularly with the project sponsor(s) to provide updates and receive instruction on next steps
  • Adhere to all safety, regulatory, and company policies and procedures
  • Perform routine lab maintenance, housekeeping, stocking of supplies, washing of glassware, etc. to maintain a clean and safe laboratory space

 

What You’ll Need:

 

  • High school diploma required. BS in Biology or related scientific discipline preferred
  • 1-2 years working in a laboratory environment (GMP/FDA-regulated preferred)
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form
  • Ability to anticipate client needs and react to changing priorities
  • Ability to work independently with little oversight
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills such as communication, initiative, and a positive attitude
