SPECIAL EDUCATION TRANSITIONS TEACHER - POSITION:

Teach Transitions/Functional Skills to nonverbal/limited verbal autistic learners
Collaborate closely with Speech, OT and Case Managers
Opportunity to regularly plan Community Based Instruction (CBI) for students throughout the school year
Support students with growing their employment skills by “working” at our in-school cafe, Busy Beans
No case management responsibilities
Teach 20 students total, 3 separate groups with 5-8 class size

Small case loads:  Case Manager positions (no teaching)
Special Education Teachers (no case managing) 
Due process days and Mentor support

WE OFFER:

Salary Range:  $37,500 - $70,000 depending on education and experience

 QualificationsREQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Possession of a valid Minnesota Teaching License in Special Education
If not currently licensed, must be willing and eligible to apply for and receive a Tier 1 or 2 Teaching License
Ability to operate a computer and the software necessary to complete required job tasks

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Masters degree in Special Education
Possession of a valid license in Autism Spectrum Disorder, in process of gaining ASD Licensure, or hold certificate with willingness to pursue licensure
Experience working with students on the autism spectrum
