As a Food Safety Quality Assurance Site Lead you will play a pivotal role in:
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining the AA and HACCP plan, ensuring they are current and managing document archiving.
- Draft, authorize, and submit AA amendments to DAFF, and maintain up-to-date reference documents by liaising with DAFF for compliance.
- Reduce customer complaints through root cause analysis and ensure product specification compliance, identifying improvement opportunities.
- Report serious security deviations immediately and participate in projects for new technology and process improvements.
- Review FSQA/MHA documentation and trends for compliance and improvement, staying informed on relevant legislation, food safety issues, and industry developments.
- Embed JBS’s commitment to Animal Welfare through training and monitoring, and audit AA at plant level, assisting with IA schedules.
- Ensure compliance with key customer requirements and identify and implement training needs.
- Raise maintenance issues with Management and maintain a working knowledge of the AA, ensuring key stakeholders are informed.
- Competent in report writing, audit off-site facilities for compliance, and review incoming and outgoing loads for GMP compliance.
- Audits off-site cold storage and freight forwarder facilities handling JBS Australia products for compliance, market access requirements hygiene, food safety etc.
- Review incoming and outgoing loads for compliance with carton handling, product damage, temperature control etc.
- A large focus on labelling, documentation, product integrity, and segregation for domestic and export customers,
- Compile audit reports with findings, corrective actions, etc.
- Assists with ongoing compliance with Commercial standards and requirements, this includes audits (internal, external, commercial etc.).
- Travel and audit/assist JBS Australia plants for compliance as well as providing technical support, and at times coverage for staff.
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a strong drive for operational excellence. You should have:
- Proven experience in food safety and quality assurance roles.
- Sound knowledge and application of HACCP principles.
- Access to information technology/i-Leader.
- Understanding of the DAFF website.
- Assist plants with corrective action reports.
- Conduct audits and assist plants in identifying gaps and opportunities for improvements.
- Internal Audit Certificate,
- Excellent Interpersonal skills and conflict resolution
- Excellent problem-solving skills with an understanding of Root Cause Analysis.
- Exceptional ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Competencies in AUS-MEAT/MSA.
- Demonstrated computer literacy in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
