Job Summary

As the Sous Chef with Restaurant Associates at Longwood Gardens, you will become a pivotal player in our culinary team. This is an outstanding opportunity to showcase your proven skills in a world-class setting. You will work closely with the Executive Chef to meticulously manage kitchen operations, ensuring flawless execution and outstanding culinary experiences. Your ambition and drive will contribute to our dynamic and inclusive team environment, helping us to successfully implement innovative culinary programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Executive Chef in managing food costs and controlling expenditures
• Assist in menu planning and creation, focusing on fresh, innovative offerings
• Lead the execution of catering events, ensuring seamless delivery
• Implement new culinary programs in collaboration with marketing and culinary teams
• Foster a culture of food quality, presentation, and sanitation excellence

Preferred Qualifications:

• A degree or certification in Culinary Arts is preferred
• Progressive kitchen management experience based on formal education or training
• Experience in catering and high-volume foodservice operations is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of food trends, quality control, and cost management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and general computer skills
• ServSafe certification is highly preferred
