Job Summary
The Sourcing & Facilities Operations Technology Manager is responsible for driving the technology roadmap and business stakeholder project management of software selection and implementation for Assurant’s Global Sourcing & Facilities (GSF) organization. The person in this role will work with cross-functional teams to include leadership and staff of Real Estate & Facilities, Global Sourcing (including Vendor Risk), Security, IT, Finance, and others, to support GSF’s continued technology maturity. The Manager will report to the VP, Sourcing & Facilities Analytics & Operational Effectiveness and will also support the GSF Analytics Team’s data management and reporting efforts as needed.
Job Responsibilities
- Technology Strategy and Process (50%):
- Technology Strategy & Roadmap Development: Support the development of a comprehensive technology and data analytics roadmap for Global Sourcing and Real Estate & Facilities, aligned with the strategic objectives and priorities of the organization.
- Process Automation: Identify opportunities for process automation and optimization within Sourcing and Real Estate workflows, leveraging technology solutions.
- Change Management: Develop and implement change management plans to support the adoption of new technology solutions and data analytics capabilities, including training, communication, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with technology and data initiatives, and develop risk mitigation strategies to ensure project success and business continuity.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies (including AI) in sourcing/procurement, real estate, and data analytics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance technology and data capabilities over time.
- Technology Selection, Implementation, and Ongoing Improvements (50%):
- Requirements Gathering: Define and document detailed business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories through collaboration with Sourcing and Real Estate partners.
- Technology Evaluation: Research, evaluate, and recommend technology solutions, platforms, and tools to support Sourcing and Real Estate processes, including sourcing, vendor risk, supplier spend analytics, lease administration, and space optimization.
- Technology Implementation: Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and IT teams throughout the project lifecycle, including implementation, UAT, and ongoing maintenance/upgrades.
- Data Integration: Collaborate with IT teams to integrate data from disparate sources, systems, and databases to create a unified view of Sourcing and Real Estate data and enable advanced analytics and reporting.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, technology strategy, data analysis, or similar role
Preferred Skills
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing technology and data analytics solutions, preferably in a corporate setting
- Experience with software selection and implementation
- Strong understanding of business processes and requirements gathering & documentation techniques
- Strong understanding of procurement and/or real estate processes, workflows, and best practices preferred
- Experience with procurement and/or real estate technology platforms and systems (e.g., Oracle, ServiceNow, MRI, FM Systems, etc.) is highly desirable
- Knowledge of and interest in AI advancements and trends that can enhance productivity in the workplace, including risks, ethical considerations, and responsible AI use
- Solid understanding of business process modeling and techniques
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus
- Advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills in a team environment
