Solutions Director

ECS is seeking a Solutions Director to work in our Arlington, VA office.

 

ECS is looking for a Solutions Director to lead technical and solution architectures directly with customers and across a high performing business portfolio focused on IT solution delivery. As a member of portfolio leadership, the Solutions Director will provide engineering leadership, creative ideas, and vision setting across multiple workstreams delivering innovative and effective solutions.

 

The ideal candidate will have a track record of supporting projects throughout the lifecycle of delivery, including operations, and will be excited to provide frontline hands-on expertise and support as needed. They will also have proven examples of acting as a trusted advisor to customers who can bridge ideas between the team, customer, and peers to ensure the portfolio is always planning strategically ahead for the greatest customer/mission delivery.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

• Lead design, planning, and implementation improvements to existing projects which include application development, data development, cloud management, and cyber security.
• Create roadmaps and design prototypes for new solutions to quickly iterate on value and choose/demonstrate options for development paths
• Provide operational support as needed and support emerging solutions as a lead engineer or developer.
• Help continuously scale the organization to ensure the high performing team always has who/what they need to achieve excellent results throughout the design, build, and operations phases of the technical solution delivery lifecycle
• Willingness to support in multiple capacities when emerging requirements require, while helping the organization adjust
• Ability to understand, learn, and advise on new and emerging technologies, practices, and approaches at all levels.

Qualifications

• US Citizen able to obtain government clearance
• 10+ years supporting the full lifecycle of IT solutions
• Strong understanding of competing/complementary delivery approaches and methodologies, including Agile, Lean, Waterfall, DevOps, ITIL, and SRE
• Understanding technical delivery tools like source code management, agile management, data analysis and dashboarding, and ticket management
• Experience hiring, managing, and growing high performing teams through good times and bad
• Experience/understanding of the business of a commercial and/or federal consulting firm
• Confronts difficult problems in a positive and creative way
• Anticipates risks and obstacles, and develops plans for mitigation
• Balances multiple and competing priorities and executes accordingly
