Software Support Specialist

 

Position Overview

The Software Support Specialist provides phone and email support for OPEX customers and field technicians, addressing a wide range of software and PC-related issues. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Specify, test, and validate new PCs and components across relevant equipment configurations.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting for software applications, including Certain Scan, Batch Transform, and Insight.
  • Diagnose and resolve system and network-related issues.
  • Maintain and continuously improve knowledge base entries for clarity and accuracy.
  • Manage inventory of spare PCs to ensure business continuity.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records within the call tracking system.
  • Leverage all available resources to ensure field technicians can deliver the highest level of customer support.

 

Collaboration

This position works closely with:

  • Regional Managers
  • Support Engineers
  • Department Supervisors and Managers
  • Technical Support Group
  • Field Service Technicians

 

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with senior management and diverse teams.
  • Solid knowledge of current PC hardware and IT industry trends.

 

Physical/Work Environments

  • Employee will primarily be working in an office environment.
  • Sitting for an extended period of time.

 

Salary range is $50K-$58K, based on  experience.
