Software Engineering Manager, ML HW-SW Codesign

We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to support a team of HW-SW Co-design engineers and research scientists. The team would drive HW aware optimizations for CV and LLM workloads running on AI accelerators. The span of work involves model optimization, quantization and network architecture search. The team works in collaboration with ML compiler, ML architecture and ML enablement teams and XFN partners to enable highly optimized solutions for AR products. The ideal candidate will have expertise in supporting a full stack model optimization for AI Accelerators.Software Engineering Manager, ML HW-SW Codesign Responsibilities

• Grow a team of domain experts in ML model optimization for deep learning hardware acceleration targets
• Communicate, collaborate, and build relationships with clients and peer teams to facilitate cross-functional projects
• Operate strategically and tactically. Develop vision, strategy, and help set direction for the team
• Remain up to date with ongoing research and development activities in the team, help work through technical challenges, and be involved in design decisions
• Build a collaborative, high-performing team culture focused on delivering outcomes against aggressive goals

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors or above in Computer Science or Electronics Engineering or an equivalent field
• Experience with ML model optimization for deep learning acceleration on CPU, GPUs, or AI accelerators
• Experience with ML HW accelerator architectures
• Experience in deep learning algorithms and techniques, e.g., convolutional neural networks, recurrent networks, LLMs, etc
• Experience with a mainstream machine-learning framework, e.g. PyTorch, Tensorflow or Caffe
• 8+ years experience in software, ML and/or HW acceleration
• 2+ years of experience in leading a team of software engineers and ML researchers of varied skill levels
• Experience with cross-functional collaboration with hardware or AI framework teams
• Proven knowledge of computer algorithms and experience crossing multi-disciplinary boundaries to drive optimal system solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters or above in Computer Science or Electronics Engineering or an equivalent field
• Experience with advanced ML training techniques and frameworks
• Experience with mapping models in HW accelerators
• Demonstrated experience recruiting, building, and leading technical organizations
