Hotel Engine is experiencing rapid business growth, and we are expanding the engineering organization to go after these opportunities. We are building more teams for Search, Payments, Admin, etc. and looking for a seasoned Engineering Manager for each team. The person who will thrive in this role will love ambiguous fast paced environments and be adept at driving results in a collaborative manner. Our engineers are smart, dedicated, and they love solving difficult challenges and pushing themselves to rethink the way they write software. They look to their manager for organizational transparency, career development, mentorship and honest feedback. They rely on their leadership to guide productivity by removing obstacles and keeping processes lean. As a manager, your job is to keep your team efficient and drive results.

What you will do:

• Lead your engineering team to deliver on the roadmap

• Lead your team’s SDLC to reduce time to market while maintaining high quality

• Hire, engage, and retain talented engineering team members

• Consistently evaluate team member’s performance and calibrate across the org

• Conduct regular 1-1s, provide timely & actionable feedback, and maintain high

  standards

• Guide the team in technical decisions, resolve conflicts

• Participate in code reviews

• Define goals and timelines, unblock obstacles, tackle questions and challenges that

  arise so your team can thrive

• Collaborate with design and product to identify and prioritize the roadmap for your team

• Be involved early and often with your Product and Designer counterparts to shape what

  we are building, help co-create

  Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, ideally in web and mobile consumer

  applications

• 2+ years of engineering management experience managing 6+ engineers

• Demonstrated ability to hire and support engineers in their career progression

• Strong computer science fundamentals, a computer science degree preferred

• Experience in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, high-growth environment

• Excellent software engineering aptitude and the ability to provide technical mentorship

  and guidance.
