You will:

• Coach – Provide just-in-time feedback, conduct 1:1s, annual reviews, and find continuous improvement opportunities. Consistently provide ongoing technical mentorship and general professional development for your team and other engineers.
• Lead – Actively collaborate with the team of your peers, keep your pod focused and engaged, contribute to engineering-wide decisions on technical strategy, product strategy, and organizational strategy.
• Write Code – Get into the nitty gritty on a daily basis. Write and debug code. Pair program and debug with your team. Regularly review PRs and system designs. Be a technical expert and mentor.
• Ship – Deliver on your pod’s product roadmap commitments. Influence the product roadmap to ensure it incorporates necessary technical investments and considers longer-term architectural goals. 
• Increase your team’s capacity to ship – Mentor your team, match engineers to appropriate growth opportunities, and actively contribute to hiring for your team. Establish and continually improve development and team processes that yield maximum efficiency in day-to-day engineering operations.

Our compensation philosophy is to be externally competitive, internally fair, and not win or lose on compensation. Salary ranges for this position are developed with the support of benchmarks (competitive San Francisco rates for US-based roles) and industry best practices.

This means we default to simple job titles (e.g., Software Engineer) rather than complex ones (e.g., Senior Software Engineer). The range posted is for a given job title, which can include multiple levels. Individual rates for the same job title may differ based on  level, responsibilities, skills, and experience for a specific job. The estimated salary range for this role is $180,000 - $280,000.
