Software Engineering Manager, Embedded Systems

Meta is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Embedded Software / Firmware Engineering Manager to join our team. As an engineering manager, you will support, enable, and empower your team, managing high-performing engineers to make a meaningful impact on billions of people around the world. Embedded Software Engineering Managers are clearly characterized by progressive technical experience in embedded systems and demonstrated progression in management responsibility.Software Engineering Manager, Embedded Systems Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of embedded software engineers to deliver high-quality products and solutions for hardware platforms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, firmware, product) to drive technical innovation in embedded systems
• Develop and implement technical strategies to achieve business objectives within the constraints of embedded environments
• Foster an environment of continuous learning, growth, and improvement in embedded software development practices

Minimum Qualifications

• 8+ years of, or PhD + 4 years of embedded software engineering work experience, including hands-on technical management
• Demonstrated experience recruiting, building, structuring, and leading technical organizations focused on embedded systems, including performance management
• Bachelor of Science/Masters in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in embedded systems
• Experience supporting, coaching, mentoring, and developing embedded software engineers
• 2+ years of experience in managing a team of engineers with varied skill levels, specifically in embedded software development

Preferred Qualifications

• Developing embedded ML / AI inference pipelines
• Building low-power + highly resource constrained products (Wearables, Mobile, Robotics)

US$177,000/year to US$251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
