Candidates should be versatile, eager and able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive financial and technical environment. Our interns will have the flexibility of working 2 days remotely, and 3 days in office per week at one of our state-of-the-art offices in Chicago, Kansas City, and New York City. To be eligible for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in a university or college program and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the year in which the internship takes place. The Cboe Clearing team is hiring for a Software Engineering Development intern:

Cboe Clearing is a dynamic growing organization clearing futures products for large financial institutions supporting FCMs, market makers and Liquidty providers. The Clearing Engineering team at Cboe Clear US is looking for an intern to assist the team with various engineering and documentation projects. The intern will learn about Software Engineering, the lifecycle of new and existing products across Clearing, Exchange, FCM and Intermediary services, and Data Analytics.

Your responsibilities and learning objectives will be:

  • To demonstrate comprehension, the intern will be expected to work on small software project(s), and create clear, concise, and accurate documentation for technical offerings including user manuals, and API docs.
  • Acquire knowledge about our clearing products and be able to explain them clearly and document them
  • Acquire knowledge about a distributed system and how it relates to finance and futures trading and clearing.
  • Work on a small project from scratch, and help with it's documentation
  • Help identify gaps or present new ideas that would enhance our offering
  • Attend daily standup with engineering
  • Must be able to commute to Chicago, IL office location on a regular basis

The ideal candidate has:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in a related field (i.e. computer science, software engineering, or financial engineering) and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the year in which the internship takes place.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to write clearly and concisely for a technical audience
  • Familiarity with software engineering or previous coding experience
  • Proficiency with software development and product development processes (i.e. Git, Jira, Confluence
  • Passionate about technology, asset management and investing.
  • Experience or familiarity with the crypto ecosystem is a plus.
