About the role

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Demonstrate high technical expertise in one or more domains, proactively solving technology bottlenecks. Understand cloud platforms, leveraging features for scalable, reliable, and secure systems. Evaluate technologies to recommend future state architecture solutions. Design hybrid cloud architectures, combining on premises and cloud resources for flexibility and scalability. Develop data migration strategies ensuring integrity and minimal disruption. Develop APIs for cloud services, ensuring compatibility across platforms and smooth integration with existing systems. Understand cloud economics, applying cost management best practices to use resources efficiently. Collaborate with finance to align spending with goals, generating cost reports and dashboards for insights and savings. Apply DevOps principles to enhance software release speed, quality, and reliability. Continuously learn new tools and methodologies, conducting blameless postmortems to improve processes. Analyze Cloud and DevOps operations to identify and automate repetitive, time-consuming tasks, improving efficiency and productivity. Understand traditional and cloud-based networking technologies, designing and maintaining secure network infrastructures. Oversee project planning and execution, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery. Conduct project reviews to evaluate outcomes and capture insights for future projects. Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, providing updates and gathering feedback to ensure alignment with business goals. Facilitate collaboration between cross-functional teams for seamless solution delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study plus 7 years (84 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Systems Engineer, Unix Administrator, Project Engineer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: utilizing cloud services such as AWS to provide scalable and secure infrastructure that supports financial applications and services; automating tasks using shell, Python scripting, Ansible, and Puppet; working in RHEL administration, hardware troubleshooting, and Linux kernel tuning for performance; using container orchestration with Kubernetes, Docker, EKS, and ECS; building cloud infrastructure using Route 53, ELB, EC2, Lambda, EFS, RDS Oracle, Aurora Postgres, and MySQL; executing cloud and database migrations using Pentaho; managing Kubernetes clusters, including scaling, monitoring, and securing workloads; utilizing service mesh technologies such as Istio or envoy for traffic management and security; working with AWS KMS, IAM, AMI, OIDC, OAuth2.0, JWT, web security, session management, and secure authentication for managing security and access; implementing network architectures using VPC, Direct Connect, and Transit Gateway; logging with CloudWatch, AWS CloudTrail, Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk, and AppDynamics; implementing observability solutions using Open Telemetry and AWS X-Ray for distributed tracing; utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with AWS CloudFormation and Terraform and developing APIs with Python FastAPI; working in CI/CD pipelines using Maven, JFrog, Nexus, Groovy script, Spinnaker, Skaffold, Jenkins, Bitbucket, SonarQube, Fortify, and Helm for software delivery; using Scrum methodologies, ITSM, JIRA, ServiceNow, and Remedy for project and IT service management to promote agile practices; configuring SRDF replication for SAN devices; Disk management using LVM and VxVM, hardware troubleshooting, and Linux kernel tuning and recovery; creating, configuring, and setting up VMware ESX, ESXi hosts, and vCenter Server; and creating and managing virtual machines on VMware ESX hosts.

Full-Time. Salary:  $214,200 - $260,000 per year.
