Summary:
Under the direction of the Tech Assurance Manager, the Sr. Manufacturing Systems Software Engineer will serve as a liaison between corporate Information Technology (IT), Operational Technology (OT) Information Security (IS) teams, and plant technical and operational teams,
with the primary objective of ensuring that we develop, implement, and maintain robust and secure processes and systems for manufacturing. The selected candidate will also become the in-house subject matter expert (SME) for making changes to database-based SCADA Systems, MES Systems, and for collecting and analyzing manufacturing data.
Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Data Integration, Intelligence & Analytics
- Collaborate with plant planning, finance, reliability, process, and quality leads to specify machine data required to support the plants PI Asset Framework (AF) development and identification of value opportunities.
- Collaborate with Corporate Engineering during capital project design, installation commissioning, and verification during Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) to ensure that Machine Data Integration Engineering standards are followed and required Asset data is requested, delivered, and validated.
- Fully leverage OSI PI System to collect, store, contextualize, analyze, monitor, and deliver the plants PI AF Asset Hierarchies and Asset Twins.
- Configure required mathematical analysis (i.e. calculations, statistics, etc.) utilizing PI AF functions to provide users with useful data to trend and monitor to drive value & make educated decisions.
- Regularly conduct analysis and generate reports on key plant performance metrics.
- Communicate project updates to relevant stakeholders.
Digital Systems Infrastructure Ownership
- Work with IS Team to ensure that the site maintains a secure OT network infrastructure.
- Manage SQL server database and regular audit production data to maintain database integrity.
- Collaborate with project engineers through change management processes and ensure the database integrity.
- Manage projects involving changes to manufacturing data to avoid operational downtime.
- Manage and execute changes of SQL Database-centric SCADA Architectures (I.E. Inductive Automation’s Ignition)
- Manage and implement changes to MES Software Platforms For Manufacturing Operations (i.e. Parsec Tracksys)
Digital OT Systems Subject Matter Expert
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, production managers, and quality assurance personnel, to ensure alignment of software solutions with manufacturing objectives.
- Participate in team meetings, provide technical expertise, and contribute to a positive and innovative work culture.
- Front line OT Digital Systems support and troubleshooting.
Physical Demand:
- Frequently: Sit, stand, walk, crawl, squat/crouch, twist, bend, grasp, lift up to 25 pounds
- Rarely: Lift/maneuver/move objects weighing 50-100 pounds with a team
Work Environment:
- Work performed in a climate-controlled food manufacturing facility.
- A Safety-first culture where using the proper LOTO methods/procedures is required
- The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are required to include but not limited to safety shoes, ear plugs, safety glasses/goggles, bump camps, hair and beard nets, and gloves.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software development and automation within manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Deep understanding of industrial automation, PLC programming, or control systems.
