Overview:
Mastercard’s Targeting Analytics Program is seeking a Software Engineering Manager with expertise in data engineering to lead a team responsible for designing and building full-stack web applications and scalable data pipelines. The Targeting Analytics program is a relatively new program that is comprised of a rich set of products that provide accurate perspectives on Credit Risk, Portfolio Optimization, and Ad Insights. The Incubation Team, part of the Targeting Analytics team and where this position will be sitting, specializes in rapid prototyping, developing proof of concepts, and preparing Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) for emerging potential products. Currently, we are enhancing our customer experience with new user interfaces, moving to API-based data publishing to allow for seamless integration in other Mastercard products and externally, utilizing new data sets and algorithms to further analytic capabilities, and generating scalable big data processes.

Engineers work in small, flexible teams. Every team member contributes to designing, building, and testing features. The range of work you will encounter varies from building intuitive, responsive UIs to designing backend data models, architecting data flows, and beyond. There are no rigid organizational structures, and each team uses processes that work best for its members and projects.

Role:
• Define strategic technical direction for applications, architectures, and development processes.
• Lead the design, development, and release of complex technical products from inception to deployment.

All About You:
• Hands-on experience as a Software Engineer or Developer, ideally with experience leading a team of software engineers.
• Data engineering or data science background with strong understanding of data pipelines, architecture, infrastructure, and management.
• Proficiency in SQL, multithreading, and message queuing systems.
• Hands-on experience with Python or Scala is preferred, as well as expertise in Hadoop platforms and related tools.
• Strong skills in OOP languages with preference for Java and the Spring Framework, alternatively C#, with experience designing and implementing full-stack applications.
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks, with a strong focus on TypeScript and a preference for React.
• Proficient in RESTful APIs, JSON, and SOAP-based API development.
• Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, and cloud-native microservices development.
• Knowledge of enterprise application security protocols and concepts.
• Experience leading the design and implementation of large, complex features in full-stack applications.
• Experience identifying and implementing technical improvements to development processes.
• Experience working with people across roles and geographies.
• Agile methodologies experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
