Job Description
Cintas is currently looking for a Software Engineer Level 3-AS400 for the IT Customer Channels Transformation team. The Software Engineer will be responsible for: reviewing modules for quality assurance and checking compliance standards; ensuring or conducting unit and/or integration testing of application modules to meet specifications; leading the evaluation and design of complex incident correction; ensuring solutions are in alignment with the established long term vision; troubleshooting complex reported incidents and issues and assisting junior colleagues; providing technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members; providing technical guidance or business process expertise; developing reports and presentations for senior management, as needed; and effectively communicating status to the Manager and Business Analysts. This Engineer will also work on major enhancements and production support issues for a legacy AS400 solution, ensuring integrations with other diverse systems continue to run efficiently, analyze and identify root cause of any system or integration issues related to the AS400, provide subject matter expertise, technical recommendations, and coding solutions that meet business requirements; and maintain a high level of functional competency regarding the AS400 environment and automated processes implemented by Cintas.
Skills/Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma/GED, required; Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferred
- Minimum 6 years of experience in Information Technology
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an AS400 environment customizing applications and managing processing of the AS400 solutions
- Minimum 5 years of experience developing and supporting integrations with an AS400 environment
- Minimum 5 years of experience with AS400 RPG coding
- Experience with Embedded SQL, Stored Procedures, RPGLE, Free Format RPG and MQ
- Minimum 5 years of experience communicating technical and business issues/solutions to all levels of management
- Used tools: MQ, Forms Print, TL Ashford and Aldon
Preferred:
- Previous work experience in a Fortune-500 or Global-1000 company
