We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with GitHub expertise in our Artifact and Process management team for the Developer Platform Engineering team at PayPal. This critical role ensures developers have the tools and processes they need to plan, build, release and deploy the features and capabilities for PayPal’s customers.Job Description:
Meet your team:
This role is to lead our Artifact and Process management team for the Developer Platform Engineering team at PayPal. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in GitHub administration and DevOps role, a deep understanding of Developer tools (esp. In artifact and process management domain like Jira, Confluence, GitHub, etc., and experience with leading and implementing tools and processes at an organization wide scale.
Your way to impact:
As GitHub administrator to manage and optimize our GitHub environment, including GitHub Enterprise Managed Users (EMU), ensuring security, compliance, and efficient collaboration across development teams. You'll also play a key role in automating infrastructure and workflows, integrating tools like Jira, Terraform, Jenkins, and JFrog Artifactory to streamline the development process. You will also drive the vision, strategy, and execution of these Artifact and process management tools, to enhance developer productivity and customer satisfaction.
Your day to day:
- Administer GitHub Enterprise Managed Users (EMU), including account setup, permissions management, and user access control.
- Manage GitHub accounts, repositories, organizations, and permissions across the enterprise.
- Enforce security policies and perform regular audits for compliance.
- Develop automation workflows using GitHub Actions and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Harness).
- Implement infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Docker.
- Establish best practices for version control, branching, and release management.
- Monitor GitHub performance, ensure system reliability, and resolve issues.
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans for GitHub.
- Integrate GitHub with project management and communication tools (e.g., Jira, Slack).
