We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Developer to join our team and develop features for administering different aspects of an IoT platform. In this role, you will work with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Java Springboot, Angular, and REST API to design, build, and maintain a robust and scalable IoT platform that meets the needs of our clients.
You will work on Ford's Industrial Internet of Things Platform on the data acquisition team. This includes developing and maintaining solutions to receive data from Ford’s Manufacturing facilities globally for the purposes of data analysis, reporting, and use within other product teams' applications.
This is a “Hybrid Position”, and you will collaborate with colleagues and teams a few days a week in our Dearborn, MI office.
What you’ll be able to do:
- Participate in the development of features for administering various aspects of the IoT platform, including device management, data visualization, and user management.
- Architect and develop front-end and back-end solutions using Angular, Java Springboot, and REST API.
- Utilize Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services to deploy and manage the IoT platform infrastructure.
- Implement security best practices to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of IoT data.
- Work in an agile environment, and participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- You will have the opportunity to mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance and support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and other technical issues.
- Continuously improve software engineering practices within the team.
The minimum requirements we seek:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, or a combination of education and equivalent experience
- 3+ years of HTML/CSS/JavaScript front-end software development Modern web application component-oriented development using React/React Native
- 2+ years of Object-oriented Development experience where you applied Java Enterprise concepts with the following tools and technologies: Spring Platform (Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring JDBC, Spring Cloud)
- Previous REST APIs Development Experience
- 2+ years of understanding, practicing, and advocating for clean code principles such as test-driven development (TDD), self-documenting code, continuous refactoring, and/or Extreme Programming (XP)
- Proven expertise in using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools and pipelines such as Rally, GIT hub, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, etc.
Our preferred requirements:
- Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, or a combination of education and equivalent experience
- Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer with a focus on IoT platforms.
- Experience in developing features for device management, data visualization, and user administration in IoT platforms.
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and deploying applications in cloud environments.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of software development principles and design patterns.
- Experience with agile methodologies and working in an agile environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
- Proven tackle and problem-solving skills to quickly identify and document the root cause of issues and optimally communicate possible resolutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills by collaborating with multi-functional teams to develop comprehensive product test plans, solve issues, etc.
