Location: New York, New York

 

Duties: Develop APIs and back-end services that will help provide the best user experience for customers. Design, develop and test new software applications, APIs, services, interfaces, and enhancements to existing applications used by customers to search for and discover the company’s various sets of content. Develop effective solutions that address ease of use, high performance, large-scale system design, security, information retrieval, natural language processing. Collaborate with the development director, program manager and other development team members to plan feature development for new releases. Conduct code reviews and participate in reviews of other team members’ code. Review test plans for new features. Document code thoroughly. Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions, and deliver solutions to meet project deadlines and priorities in an agile development environment. May telecommute from metro New York City area (includes NY, NJ, CT, and PA).

 

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field and 5 years of experience in the position offered or related, including 3 years of work experience with the following technologies: writing code for APIs hosted in an AWS environment; applying knowledge of protocols including HTTP/S, Websockets, TCP/UDP, SSL and web technologies; applying knowledge of Domain Driven Design concepts and microservices; developing Angular websites; working with AWS Redshift and AWS Serverless technologies including Lambda, SQS, and SNS; using DevOps automation processes and tools, and methodologies including Puppet, Jenkins, TFS, GIT and Containerization; working with at least one SQL Database including MS SQL, MySQL, or Oracle; and working with No SQL database including MongoDB or AWS Dynamo. Salary range: $169,229 to $180,000/year.
