Leidos is seeking a systems administrator to support the NASA Langley Research Center’s Center Operations Directorate (COD). The role is responsible for performing the software engineering function, including the design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of software programs for enhancements and new software-intensive systems and products. Applies appropriate principles, standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the software development life cycle. Duties include software requirements analysis, analysis of hardware compatibility, development of software products and tools used for design, development and maintenance of infrastructure, and platforms.

Primary Responsibilities
• Works independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with limited impact on operational results or project deliverables.
• Responsible for basic task support for projects or processes within one or more technical areas.
• Works under supervision on less complex projects/ assignments.
• Solves simple, routine technical problems following established procedures and policies.
• Develops products, solutions, processes using basic principles, theories and concepts within own technical specialty.
• Communicates with peers to explain facts, basic analysis, processes and practices related to area.
• Requires basic knowledge of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts of narrow technical domain.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field with 2-4 years of experience working in software engineering operations, or equivalent experience
• Ability to obtain a NASA Public Trust clearance
• Creativity to imagine innovative, effective new solutions and designs.
• Apply sound logic and reasoning against troubleshooting difficult issues.
• Must be able to develop solutions to problems, as well as manage multiple issues at the same time.
• Understanding and appropriately responding to feedback is an important aspect of this position.
• Both oral and written communication skills are vital to relaying important information, training new staff members, and communicating about solutions to complex problems.
Preferred Qualifications
• 5+ years of software engineering experience across multiple disciplines (coding, testing, deploying, troubleshooting) with basic understanding of hybrid cloud service operations
• General understanding of ITSM processes and experience with agile methodologies like Scrum, Kanban, SAFe using technologies like Jira or ServiceNow
• General understanding of DevSecOps concepts and Site Reliability Engineering

Desired Certifications / Training:
• AWS Developer Associate certification
• Azure fundamentals certification
Potential for Telework (if any):
Yes, with ability to be onsite upon request.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $53,950.00 - $97,525.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
