Software Engineer

The Software Engineer will be a critical part of Midigator’s engineering team. We are seeking creative, high-energy, diverse, and driven engineers with hands-on skills to work on a variety of meaningful projects. We have a rapidly evolving environment with a lot of technical goodness: microservices, data streaming, queues, eventing, APIs, UIs, etc. all in a cloud-hosted Kubernetes environment with Golang, Python, and Javascript. The ideal candidate has experience working in a rapidly changing environment, is a self-starter, loves learning, and enjoys delivering value.

What You’ll Do

• You will manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and work you're doing.

• Translate technical designs into maintainable, scalable, and high-quality software solutions.

• Experiment with technologies and propose solutions to colleagues, including architects and the leadership team.

• Participate in peer design and code reviews.

• Incorporate monitoring, logging, and tracing.

• Have a voice in defining our technical culture, and helping to build a fast-growing team.

What experience you need

• BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent job experience required.

• Cloud Certification required.

• 2-4 years of related software engineering experience in an agile environment.

• Experience with Linux systems.

• Experience with GoLang, Python & SQL.

• Belief and experience in writing clean, non-complicated code with tests.

• Experience with unit, integration, or end-to-end testing.

• Willing to embrace our monolithic code base while transforming it over time into microservices and micro front-ends.

• Experience with REST API’s or asynchronous communications.

• Experience with frequent and incremental development, testing, and deployment

• Experience in distributed data stores, file systems, and services (MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB).

What could set you apart

• Experience with Terraform, CI/CD, Git, Gitlab.

• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch

• Experience in JavaScript and BASH.

• Experience with Event-driven architectures and Eventing systems.
