What is the PACE Team responsible for?
The PACE Team supports multiple established systems for maintaining securities data, benchmarks, and portfolio information. At the request of various investment professionals, additional elements are populated into the databases, enhancements are made, and new functionality is incorporated into the systems. Enhancements can include such things as mapping new elements, translating codes, building new interfaces, reports, backend Java processes, views, stored procedures, data loaders etc.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of the SW Engineer – Securities Benchmark and Portfolio Data?
It is the responsibility of SW Engineer to work with the existing development team and interface with the Security Reference Data Administration Team.
Typical work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM EST, with the expectation to rotate with other team members supporting early morning hours (6:00 AM) and/or late evening (6:00 PM) as needed. May also be on a rotating on-call schedule supporting the overnight cycle.
What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?
Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline or equivalent experience
5+ years of traversing a variety of systems and familiarity with Agile development methodology
Demonstrated experience with Java, JavaScript, JMS message publishing and consuming, plus in-depth knowledge of Oracle used within complex systems
Working knowledge of AWS, preferably with experience using Webservices such as SNS, SQS, Lambda, and S3, as well as experience with AWS Secrets Manager
Fixed Income and Equity business experience is essential; knowledge of investment securities and their nuances - an understanding of stocks, international equities, corporate bonds, treasury bonds, mortgage-backed securities, residential and commercial bonds, Interest Rate swaps, total return swaps, Futures and commodities.
What technology skill sets are critical to the success of this role?
Strong ORACLE PL/SQL, SQL, UNIX shell scripting, stored procedures
SpringFrame work, SpringBoot, AWS (Amazon Web Services)
EJBs, Struts framework, App/Web Server applications, JSP (JAVA Server Pages), Servlet/Web UI, Web Services, HTML, familiarity with the source control system GitLab and development/build tools like Maven, or Eclipse
Extensive job control systems experience with Autosys
