As part of Detection and Measurement, CUES is the world’s leading developer of water, wastewater, and storm water inspection equipment. With CCTV cameras, pre-built vehicles, and software for pipeline inspection and rehabilitation, we improve the safety and reliability of our water infrastructure systems.
How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of Linux software applications for a networked systems of edge nodes designed to inspect underground infrastructure.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
- Software Development:
- Work with an engineering team to gather and define project requirements.
- Design, code, debug, and verify C++ Linux software applications, API’s, and scripts that perform according to project specifications.
- Maintain Software: Update existing software projects as needed to support new features, modify current operation, and/or sustain a product through changes.
- Write technical documentation: Document details of the operation of the software and API’s for future reference. Contribute to product manuals and various internal process documentation as needed.
- Support:
- Provide inter-departmental support by assisting with issue identification and resolution affecting production and customers.
- Provide intra-departmental support by generating software for testing and capturing test data within the engineering department.
- Supply regular status updates to engineering teams and management.
- Attend engineering team meetings as required.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process or software improvements.
- Collaborate with team members to implement enhancements and streamline workflows.
- Participate in retrospectives and feedback sessions to continuously improve team performance and software quality.
