An internship is a temporary position within Solventum. Interns typically work a full-time schedule throughout a 10-12 week assignment during the summer of 2025.  This position is limited to working 899 hours per service credit year.

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Software Engineer Intern (with Data Science/Analytics focus/Minor), you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Collaborating with Research & Development team members to design, test and implement new software application(s) or enhance existing ones in support of our core business groups
  • Playing a key role in developing application prototypes by helping capture stakeholder requirements, implementing algorithms, writing code, and conducting user acceptance testing
  • Working closely with a team of computer scientists, engineers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, contribute to brainstorming sessions and provide input into the development process
  • Gaining experience with building AWS infrastructure-as-code in a corporate setting and supporting existing CI/CD pipeline automation

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution

AND

In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:

  • Experience with computer science or computer engineering course work and prior internship experience considered
  • Experience with at least one computer programming language such as C++, C#, Java, Perl or Go
  • Experience with data science/analytics course work or prior internship experience considered

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Considering or pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science and/or Data Science from an accredited institution
  • Experience with software version control systems such as Git/GitHub
  • Experience with Machine Learning, Statistical Learning, Data Mining, or equivalent
  • Experience with software coding best practices such as Peer-programing, Xtreme Programming, Agile Development
  • Experience with various programming languages used in the data science field such as Python, R and SQL course work and prior internship experience considered (truly a nice to have)
  • Good communication skills (both oral and written)
