Software Engineer Intern

To help support our growth, we are looking for a Software Engineer Intern who will support the Engineering team.  This is an exciting opportunity to help the team customize and extend current web and mobile applications, help build prototypes, extend or add new features into existing applications, write test cases, and help troubleshoot and fix bugs. The intern will use their programming and problem-solving skills to assist in the development of applications for our diverse set of clients. 
The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving and analytic skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment. Carimus interns can enroll in our 401(k) Retirement Plan and company match!
We are looking for someone who has the capacity to regularly work 10-20 hours per week in our Raleigh, NC office.

What you’ll do…

• Assist in the creation of scalable software platforms and applications that are unit tested, code reviewed, and checked regularly for continuous integration

• Gather user requirements, define system functionality and write code in various languages, like javascript and PHP using libraries such as React.js and Laravel

• Give and receive feedback for assigned projects 

• Understand client requirements and how they translate into application features

Required Qualifications:
 

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology
• Excellent problem-solving skills and interest in learning new technologies 
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Experience or Interest in coding and programming 
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal
