Software Engineer Intern, Cards Experience

About the role

Chime is looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join our Cards Experience Team. You will gain valuable professional experience working with cutting edge cloud technology platforms and distributed systems alongside engineers with a wealth of experience to share. This is an exciting opportunity to learn while playing a role in a critical initiative at Chime.

This role is structured as a 3 month engagement. The starting hourly rate offered for this role and target level of experience will begin at $34 and up to $49. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to:

• Work alongside our experienced engineering team to design, develop, and maintain software that powers innovative, member-friendly experiences around Chime cards. 

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and marketing.
• Gain exposure to a variety of software technologies and programming languages, including, but not limited to, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, React Native, AWS.
• Have the opportunity to propose and implement your own ideas and solutions to improve our software applications and business operations.

 

To thrive in this role, you:

• Are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
• Have strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Are a creative thinker and self starter with a passion for consumer FinTech
• Are flexible and enjoy doing whatever it takes to execute on complex projects
• Have a low ego and are comfortable working directly well with a wide range of stakeholders
