Gather, analyze, document and maintain all data requirements related to the business applications, interfaces and reporting environments. Apply standards and best practices to ensure the Bank's data is accurate, complete, current, understandable and accessible. Work closely with internal clients, business analysts, development and partner with the business product owners to understand the end goal to offer solutions and recommendations during the design and development phases of projects. Additionally, the role evaluates established and emerging data practices and technologies to drive the team's direction, while implementing innovative processes and solutions to provide competitive advantage while meeting rigorous control and oversight mandates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Partners with line of business (LOB) teams, external vendors, and internal Data Services team to identify system specifications in compliance with corporate standards for Data Governance adherence and Audit guidelines.
2. Lead and participate in the development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of highly complex solutions in adherence to company standards, including robust unit testing and support for subsequent release testing.
3. Provide subject matter expertise in the planning and execution of data management activities such as data sourcing, metadata management, data quality, data privacy or records management.
4. Build non-functional monitoring capabilities and provide escalated support for highly complex applications in production.
5. Perform oversight and inspection of critical data management practices for adherence to established data policies and control frameworks.
6. Lead the build in and maintenance of data controls and monitoring in support of company standards.  

7. Work with audit functions to ensure compliance with the data governance and control standards of the enterprise.
8. May oversee the work of a small team.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree and 6 to 10 years of experience or equivalent education and software engineering training or experience

2. In-depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices
3. Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function
4. Ability to plan and manage projects and solve complex problems by applying best practices
5. Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates.

6. Ability to interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive information

Preferred Qualifications

1. Master’s degree and 10+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

2. Knowledge of specific applications, technology platforms, programming languages, systems, or business segments

3. Banking or financial services experience.
