Software Engineer II

The Engineer II, Software is a developing professional who participates in creating and extending Omnicell products. This person is a solid developer who can apply industry and corporate best practices to produce quality applications. This person applies their practical and theoretical knowledge from Computer Science and previous experience in Healthcare or a related industry. This person works as part of a team designing and developing new features as well as maintaining Omnicell’s current portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Work as part of a team to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
Participate and assist in coordinating discussions and estimations required for product release planning
Collaborate and execute in all phases of testing
Collaborate with cross-functional team on documentation and training
Assist with code reviews for fellow team members, as required
Create unit tests to help ensure code quality throughout the application’s life cycle
Understand how Omnicell solutions meet our customers' needs and how our suite of products are used across the continuum of care
Required Qualifications
Proficient in Object oriented analysis, design, and programming (OOAD, OOP)
Proficient in Using design and refactoring patterns
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
Good interpersonal communication skills
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics or other Science/Engineering field
2+ years hands-on experience in software development
Preferred Qualifications
Healthcare Industry Experience
2+ years of experience in C# and .NET Framework/.NET Core
2+ years of experience working with databases: SQL Server, T-SQL or comparable
1+ years of experience working with JavaScript Frameworks (React, Angular, jQuery)
1+ years of experience working with Microservices and Cloud technologies like Azure, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes
1+ years of experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical working with interfaces such as HL7, FHIR, EDI and working with PHI
Understanding of Agile/Scrum software development lifecycle management
Understanding of Internationalization / Localization
Work Conditions
Remote role with high preference for candidates local to the Pittsburgh, PA area
Ability to travel 10% of the time
