About The Role & Team

The Growth Engineering team is dedicated to applying product, engineering, and data to keep Amplitude growing as fast as possible. To scalably grow Amplitude, we build features, infrastructure, and experiments that maximize growth. We help new, returning, and dormant users discover and activate their core use cases, build habits, and deepen their engagement through the discovery of relevant features. Our goal is to expand what users can do with Amplitude over time.

Our work spans the entire user journey, from initial product experience to long-term engagement. We focus on improving our core user experience to drive free-to-paid conversions and work across Amplitude's product suite to increase acquisition, activation, retention, and monetization. As an Engineer I on the Growth team, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to these efforts and see how your engineering skills directly impact business growth.

As an Engineer I on the Growth team, you will:

  • Build across our entire stack using TypeScript, React, CSS + HTML, GraphQL, Node, Python, Postgres, and MySQL
  • Participate in the full project lifecycle, from ideation and implementation through to testing, QA, and launch
  • Develop and implement growth-focused features and improvements across Amplitude's products (Analytics, Experiment, CDP) that directly impact key metrics such as retention, engagement, and conversion (e.g., new user experience, onboarding, invite flows, feature adoption)
  • Contribute to A/B testing implementation and analysis to optimize user experiences and drive conversion
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve Amplitude based on research, data, creativity, and user feedback
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product and design, to iterate on our products
  • Participate in engineering discussions and learn best practices for growth engineering
  • Help implement analytics tracking to enable and guide our data-driven approach
  • Engage in continuous learning and skill development to stay current with best practices in growth and software engineering

You'll be a great addition to the team if you:

  • Have 0-2 years of experience in frontend or fullstack engineering (including internships, academic projects, or personal work)
  • Are proficient in JavaScript and have experience with modern frameworks (React preferred)
  • Have a solid understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript) and are eager to expand your skills
  • Possess basic knowledge of backend technologies and databases (Node.js, Python, SQL)
  • Have experience with version control systems, particularly Git
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset and bias for action; you're motivated by impact, quick to implement, and eager to learn from results
  • Enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams and can effectively communicate technical concepts
