About the role

FactSet creates flexible, open data and software solutions for over 200,000 investment professionals worldwide, providing instant access

to financial data and analytics that investors use to make crucial decisions.

At FactSet, our values are the foundation of everything we do. They express how we act and operate, serve as a compass in our decision-making, and play a big role in how we treat each other, our clients, and our communities. We believe that the best ideas can come from anyone, anywhere, at any time, and that curiosity is the key to anticipating our clients’ needs and exceeding their expectations.

Client Data Infrastructure is looking for a detail-oriented, motivated engineer to join their Client Data Storage team.  This team is responsible for building low-level systems that store and secure our clients’ mission-critical files and documents.  Two of the key systems that this team maintains are the Client Relational Data Service (CRDS), and the Application User Data Service (AUDS), two critical tier-0 pieces of infrastructure that each handle over one hundred million requests per day.

The team is comprised of a small group of talented and highly versatile engineers.  Our team members make changes that have a large impact, as virtually all FactSet’s products use our systems somewhere in their technology stack.  At the same time, that position requires a keen eye for stability and performance.  Development work is largely in C#, though some responsibilities may require C++, SQL or a scripting language.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and deploy low-level enhancements and fixes to critical systems

  • Participate in an on-call rotation

  • Contribute to highly technical design discussions

  • Help design the next generation of FactSet’s client data architecture

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ experience within Software Development

  • Programming experience in an Object-Oriented Language

Critical Skills:

  • Programming experience in an Object-Oriented Language

  • Experience working with C# or C++

  • SQL development experience, especially SQL server

  • Cloud development experience

Additional/Desired Skills:

  • Eagerness to learn new systems, and how they get applied by other engineering teams

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other engineers

  • Strong analytical and design skills

  • Experience working on critical, low-level infrastructure

Education:

  • Bachelors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent

The budgeted salary range for this position in the states of Connecticut and New York is $120.000 – 135,000.00
