About the team and the role:
eBay Live is our interactive livestream shopping platform that brings the excitement of in-person auctions and sales directly to online buyers. It allows sellers to showcase products in real time, engage with viewers through live chat, and create a dynamic, community-driven shopping experience. For buyers, it’s a chance to discover unique items, ask questions instantly, and purchase with confidence. By combining the reach of eBay’s global marketplace with the energy of live commerce, eBay Live is redefining how people connect, shop, and sell.
What you'll do and learn:
- Build scalable, reliable frontend features in a distributed environment.
- Translate product/design into clean, tested, maintainable code.
- Write automation tests, practice CI/CD, and conduct code reviews.
- Own subsystems end-to-end: design, development, deployment, monitoring.
- Evaluate design options, provide estimates, and meet milestones independently.
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders to ensure alignment.
- Support releases, on-call, and 24/7 site reliability.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in EE, CS or other related field.
- 4+ years of experience working in front-end development using Javascript/Typescript, CSS, React, NodeJS
- Server-side rendering using one of the open-sourced UI libraries (Material UI/Ant UI), Integration with REST/GraphQL APIs
- Strong portfolio demonstrating BEM-structured CSS and understand the intricacies of how browsers work
- Strong CS foundation (Data structures, Algorithms, Functional Programming)
- Delivers results in fast-paced environments (agile, TDD, CI/CD)
- Designs and builds scalable, distributed, available systems
The applicable base pay range for this position is dependent on work location. The base pay range in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City Metro and Seattle Metro is expected in the range below:
$142,400 - $190,100The base pay range for all other U.S. work locations is expected in the range below:
$95,200 - $168,700Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
