Job Description:
- LST is seeking an experienced mid-level Engineer of Software to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Air Traffic Management (ATM), SETIS 1 Tasking for the App Store. The ideal candidate will provide support for the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA).
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients, system engineers, and stakeholders to gather and refine project requirements.
- Architect, develop, test, and maintain high-quality web applications and services using a variety of programming languages and frameworks.
- Support the design and implementation of complex software features and components.
- Optimize web applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues.
- Provide expert recommendations and solutions for FAA cloud infrastructure and system architectural designs and implementations.
- Ability to present to diverse audiences, explaining the technical benefits of a solution in a manner that is easy to understand.
Required Experience:
- Intermediate to advanced programming skills in web application/web service development.
- Experience with AWS cloud (EKS, EC2, ECR, CodeCommit, RDS)
- Experience or ability to easily pick up develop/deploy to AWS (ex: code, unit test locally, build artifact, build image, deploy image to EKS on AWS, test code on deployed environment)
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with git (source code management) (ex: Bitbucket - pull/push code changes)
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deploy (CI/CD) tools (ex: SonarQube, SonarLint, Junit, Jenkins, Maven, Terraform, Ansible, Artifactory, ArgoCD)
- Must have at least 5-10 years of experience.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with configuring, deploying, and using Backstage
- Experience with SonarQube or Prisma, having the ability to interpret scans and resolve security vulnerabilities
- Experience leveraging Artifactory/JFrog (getting artifacts in/out)
- Experience with Jenkins pipelines, ability to create and manage
- Experience with ArgoCD, having the ability to understand project creation process, request deployment, and debugging of deployed apps/services)
- Experience with infrastructure provisioning and deployment technologies (Terraform, helm, Lens)
- Experience with PostgreSQL
- Experience supporting the FAA and National Airspace System (NAS)
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related field).

- Work location: DC Contactor site, Remote work acceptable
- Work Hours: Normal working hours

- Physical requirements:
- Extended Computer Use: Regular and prolonged periods of working at a computer terminal.
- Lifting and Carrying: Occasional lifting of equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds may be required during installations or maintenance.
- Mobility: Ability to move around the office environment to access computer hardware, networking equipment, and server rooms.
- Dexterity: Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate computer equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform tasks requiring precision.
- Sitting/Standing: Both prolonged sitting and occasional standing may be required for troubleshooting and attending to system issues.
- Background check: Must have ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
