About the PositionAs a Software Engineer with Curate, you’ll enable our team to provide a high-quality product to our customers. You’ll work on complex distributed systems using the latest open-source technology platforms like Kubernetes. You’ll work with the development and executive teams to prioritize features and fixes within an existing infrastructure. You’ll also work with product managers and business development teams to implement website features for our internal tools as well as the customer-facing website.
About the TeamCurate helps businesses efficiently monitor risk and find opportunities through municipal data - at scale. We scan thousands of local government websites looking for meeting minutes and agendas where decisions are made that impact our business customers. Based in Madison, WI the 25-member Curate team works collaboratively to ensure we’re always improving the product for our customers. 
The engineering team is a close knit group of generalists that work together to build the best local government tracking service available on the market. Everyone brings a different skill set and level of expertise to their specific work.
About YouThe team is counting on you to have experience in a professional setting as an engineer. Things like code versioning, release cycles, documentation, and testing are second nature to you. You strive to create highly available, well-architected components and microservices that are production ready.

• Build clean, documented, and production-ready code in multiple languages
• Collaborate with non-technical roles to build the correct internal and external products
• Work with your engineering teammates to solve complex problems
• Take ownership of system components and continue to push Curate’s vision with state-of-the-art technology

What Sets You Apart

• 1+ years of industry experience working with production code
• Strong experience in one of the following: Python, Typescript, Go
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (not required, but a major plus)
• Experience with microservices and high availability ideology is a plus
• Experience with large-scale production databases, especially in MongoDB
• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with non-technical roles
• Proven ability to use multiple languages in a production environment
• Self-starter, able to work out details independently with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated thirst for knowledge, constantly learning new frameworks and technologies
