Software Engineer 2

As a Software Engineer 2 in the Mesh Platform and Services team, you will work alongside product managers, research, 3D experiences and other partner teams building the next generation of services and media stacks that powers immersive, real-time collaboration experiences across a variety of devices

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and support new functionality for Mesh product 

• Work alongside product managers, research, 3D experiences, services developers and other partner teams building the media platform which powers real-time inferencing, processing and delivery of spatial audio, video, avatars and human pose information.  

• Drive engineering solutions by demonstrating technical depth and cross team collaboration. 

• Work with state-of-the art next generation Mixed Reality hardware, sensors, and software.   

• Support production systems on a rotational, on-call basis.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in shipping highly scalable, networked user experiences, or performant 3D games, web applications and/or Mixed Reality experiences.  
• 1+ year of experience in building compliant CI/CD and release management pipelines. 

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:  

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.   

Preferred Qualifications  

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python 

•  OR Master’s degree in computer science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python 

• OR equivalent experience. 

• Experience with Unity, Unreal or other game development engines.
